Trial & Error with Treating Interstitial Cystitis

Published by ff at 8:45 am under IC Disease, Treatments Edit This

Treating IC Disease involves one or more medications or other alternative therapies.  When treating IC Disease, it can be a trial and error process.  For one patient, using just one medication may relieve the symptoms while another patient may not respond to any treatments.  It can be very frustrating for the patient as well as the physician.

Starting tomorrow, I will break down the posts daily to talk about each kind of treatment that is available.

Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for IC Disease and the cause is unknown so the only thing that can be done is to treat the symptoms. Hopefully with research that is being done, a day will come when there will be a cure and none of the medications or treatments will be necessary. But until that day comes, patients have to rely on medication and therapies in order to make it through the day and to help deal with the pain.
