Incontinence Leads to Decreased Mental Health, High Stress
All of the following information was reported at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association:
Urinary incontinence leads to decreased mental health and high psychosocial stress. It was also reported that Botox has been effective in treating overactive bladder syndrome but up to four treatments were needed before results were shown.
2 of 12 pediatric patients developed immunity to to Botox and antibodies against botox was found in the system. This immunity blocked the effectiveness of Botox.
Nickel et.al., in abstract 180 showed that daily administration of alkalinized lidocaine was better than placebo in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain in women. Symptoms were improved at days 8 and 15 after treatment.
