Happy Valentine’s Day!

Published by ff under Fun Stuff Edit This

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and that you spent it with someone you love very much!   My husband and I quit buying each other gifts a long time ago because there really isn’t anything that we need.  On Valentine’s Day and our anniversary we just treat ourselves to a nice meal instead of buying each other things we really don’t want or need.

Our son likes Valentine’s Day and he gets into it.  He has to buy me and his daddy a present.  Of course we buy him something also but I try not to buy candy.  This year he got the Space Buddies movie that just came out on DVD.

So how did you spend your Valentine’s Day? Does your husband buy you roses?  Do you go out to eat?

Fun Today At Build-A-Bear Workshop!

Published by ff under Fun Stuff Edit This

My husband and I took our son today to the Build-A-Bear Workshop that is about 1 1/2 hours from our home.  He has been wanting to go there for a long time and we finally got around to doing it.  It was so much fun!  I have talked to several people who have went there before and I have always wanted to check and see what it’s all about.  If you haven’t heard of Build-A-Bear, you need to check out their website by clicking HERE

The first thing we did when we went in was to pick a bear or an animal that our son wanted to have stuffed.  The next step was to decide if he wanted the bear to talk or play music.  Then the employee stuffed the bear for him and put the sound and a heart inside of the bear.  They also put a UPC code inside.  If the bear ever gets lost, it gets returned to Build-A-Bear and they track down the owner that way.  Then we went and picked out clothes for the bear.  They have the cutest clothes.  Our son picked Skecher sneakers, jeans, a t-shirt and sunglasses.

The last step was to go onto the computer and complete a birth certificate for the bear.  Then we paid and left!  It was a real blast!

Tag! It’s My Turn To Be It!

Published by ff under Fun Stuff Edit This

I was tagged today by Tina over at Chronic Pain yesterday and now it’s my turn to tag others. The rules of this game are:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Six quirks about me:

  • I hate answering the telephone. I let almost all phone calls go to the answering machine.
  • There are weeks when I go three or four days in a row without driving anywhere.
  • I can’t stand having any length to my fingernails. It always feels like there is something dirty under them.
  • I do not like animals and will not allow there to be any pets in my home.
  • I like rooms to be dark. The light bothers me.
  • I have a habit of drinking my chocolate milk out of the jug.

Here are the blogs I have chosen to tag:

Some Sunday Silliness: The Evolution of Dance Video

Published by ff under Fun Stuff Edit This

Writing, talking and reading about chronic illness can become depressing after a while. Because of this, I wanted to lighten up the mood on IC Disease a little bit and post a really hilarious video I found a while back. I actually had posted it on a family blog I have been keeping up that talks about my brother-in-law’s battle with cancer.

When I saw this video the first time I literally almost peed my pants (I know - that’s not hard for someone with a bladder disease, but it is hilarious!). The video is by “inspirational comedian”, Judson Laipply. I had never heard of inspirational comedy until watching his video, but Judson describes it as a cross between Robin Williams and Tony Robbins.

So if you are in pain today, having a bad bladder spell, are extremely fatigued, or just in a bad mood and need a good laugh - click on the video below and you will have the best six minutes you’ve had in a long time!
